Foodtown is an experience. A neighbor recommended it when we were looking for ingredients to try an Asian dish, and we’ve been back twice since. Each visit feels like a mini adventure—eye-opening and fascinating. This might be the largest ethnic grocery store we’ve ever been to. The variety is incredible: produce from the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. You’ll find items here that you probably can’t get anywhere else—many we have never even seen or heard of before. We especially love the fresh Asian greens and herbs. Finally, a place where baby bok choy is actually baby-sized, and where mint and basil come in generous bags instead of tiny bundles. The aisles are packed with sauces, rice, and noodles that could make your head spin. There’s also a wide selection of fish, meat, and animal parts you’d typically only find in wet markets abroad—definitely not your standard grocery store. While it’s not the cleanest m, cheapest or most customer-friendly place, it’s a fantastic resource if you are looking to cook authentic ethnic dishes.
